JRTC Journals Day 16: Military Spouse of the Year Voting

So perhaps not a funny day, but a crazy day!

Last month I was notified that I was nominated twice for Military Spouse of the Year.  How cool is that?!  Not that I’m really special, because I’m not.  There are fantastic spouses around this country, and I am simply honored to be among the nominees.  Really.

What do I love about this?  We’re honoring each other.  We’re celebrating not just the activists spouses, but those of us who are in this for the long haul with no shiny medals to remind us of the deployment-gnomes we fight at home.  Those of us who are standing steady to support our soldiers.  We’re keeping our marriages whole, we’re fighting through the PTSD, we’re bringing them back from the brink and loving them through it. We’re standing strong on our own right, and following our own dreams, and that in itself is something to truly celebrate.

Yay for all the amazing nominated spouses!

Oh, and voting is only today, so if you’d like to vote for me, go HERE.  =)

And I love you.  All of you.  Every single one of you.  Because you’re crazy enough to read this and take the crazy ride with me.
